Before you book
Do I need an appointment?
Yes for anything that needs a stand. Walk-ins are fine for a look and a conversation, but booked work gets the bay and a ready-by time.
Do you work on street bikes?
Yes. Dirt is the majority of the book, but Jax does street, dual-sport and vintage.
Can you build an engine?
Top ends, bottom ends, porting, cranks. We quote hours from the catalog, then Elias confirms once he sees the cases.
Do you sell bikes or parts?
No. This is a service shop. We wrench — we don't run a floor or a parts counter.
Do you work on dirt bikes and sleds?
Yes. Motocross, enduro, dual-sport, and the occasional sled. If it has a piston and you ride it in the Flathead, ask.
Montana tax?
Montana has no sales tax. The number on the quote is the number.

About Hanson's Performance
Cole Hanson opened the shop in 2009 in a two-bay steel building on Wishart Road after a decade of racing local MX and wrenching other people's bikes after hours. We are not a dealer. We do not sell units. We build, repair and set up dirt, street and the occasional sled for riders who already know what they want.
Cole and Jax are the two clocks in the bays. Your bike does not bounce between a crowd. Elias writes the job, Mara runs the book, Cole still ports heads when he's not on a stand. If we cannot do it this week we say so, and we put you on a real date.
